Regarding the OVW and WWE split, a lot of people in the company believe John Lauranitis was one of the main ones pushing for the two to severe ties. Lauranitis lives in Florida and wanted WWE's developmental territory to be only in Florida because it has its perks for him.
- WWE currently has 35 wrestlers signed to developmental deals. The plan is to increase that number to 70 within the next few months. WWE is expected to go on a big hiring spree right after WrestleMania 24.
- All eyes are now on Steve Keirn and WWE's developmental territory in Florida. Seeing as how WWE sent out a press release touting FCW as their next big thing, there is little room for error this early in. The biggest concern people have about the developmental system in Florida is that Keirn, who is currently a WWE agent, is very good at structuring women's and tag team matches, but is a poor promo coach and has no experience at all promoting shows, let alone managing an entire developmental territory. Keirn has some people to help him, but given the size of this operation it's not nearly enough. Vince McMahon, who has a notoriously short attention span, has threatened to pull the entire developmental operations in the past.
